A Contract Completed…

Today I finished the final copy edits for Book 3 of the New Lyons Sequence, SINdrome (available for pre-order here).  From my end, that pretty much puts this contract to bed.  Sure, there’s promotional activity to do, and a final check of the AA’s for SINdrome, but by and large, my contract with Kensington / Rebel Base has been fulfilled.  Which begs the question, what happens now?

Honestly?  I have no idea.  🙂

The short version is, I keep writing.  It’s in everybody’s best interests to wait and see how the New Lyons Sequence does before rushing off into trying to sign any new deals.  With SINthetic only on the shelves for a month, no one really has any idea how its doing from a sales standpoint (and SINdicate and SINdrome don’t drop for a bit), so it’s off to other projects.  At the moment, I’m about 50k words into another science fiction manuscript, this one focusing on transhumanism and the effects of immortality on society.  Oh, and killer space zombies, because if you have the option, you should ALWAYS have killer space zombies.

I figure that one will take the next couple of months to finish.  Maybe another month of edits and revisions.  And then it will be time to work with my agent to get a new deal.

The good news is, the hopper of ideas is ever-full, so as long as someone’s buying, I’ll keep on writing.  Who am I kidding?  I’ll write them either way, but it’s definitely more satisfying to sell them then it is to read them to the dogs.

Until next time…

I can’t wait to read SINdrome – not to mention your new sci-fi project. All of these futuristic topics are very interesting for me. Keep writing awesome books!

Very nicely done. I just finished SINdicate. I really enjoy the blow by blow hand to hand details and the realistic near future setting. The theme of this series is an interesting mirror through which one can look at our real world. Keep up the good work. I look forward to SINdrome.
